Blowout Repair Guide

Blowouts
Blowouts are the result of stretching too fast.
A blowout is when the pressure is too great on the stretched skin that the piercing can turn inside out leaving a lip of scar tissue all around the piercing.
A blowout can either happen the second you insert the jewellery up to 2 days after. Once you have noticed you have a blowout you must take the
jewellery out and downsize instantly.
Once your ears are healed if the blowout is still present then you should follow the repair guide below.

Tears
Tears are small, sometimes large rips in the skin when stretching, which can be caused by stretching too fast.
As with blowouts if you get a tear you will have to suck it up and downsize to allow it to heal fully
and have plenty of sea salt soaks and oil rubs before continuing to stretch up.

Thin Lobes
Thin lobes can be caused by over stretching, poorly placed piercings or stretching too fast.
One way to fix this is to downsize and allow for the skin to get a better blood flow and grow more skin then carefully stretch back up.
This whole process can take up to a year to be effective.
The repair guide below is great to help with thickening up your lobes.

Ripped Lobes
This is some people's worse nightmare.
Catching your prized piercing on the bed post or someone's fist can rip your lobe completely out giving you two bloody, dangling stumps.
Fixing this rarely works with a plaster and tape so you may want to check with the local doctor to get it sutured.
However some (most) doctors have a problem with body mod's and will not touch you so the only way you can get the procedure done safely is to turn to your
friendly neighbourhood body mod artist to repair your sorry looking lobe.

Needed:

• Lo(be)tion

• Brutiful Butter

• All Natural Sea Salt
Dissolve 1/4 teaspoon of non-iodized (iodine- free) sea salt into one cup (8 oz.) of warm distilled or bottled water.
A stronger mixture is not better; a saline solution that is too strong can irritate the piercing.

• Tunnels (for as little weight as possible)

To mix the Sea Salt: The norm. Is 1/4 teaspoon of Sea salt for every cup of water.

Mornings: Do your warm water massages to increase blood flow. (Roughly 5 minutes per ear)
Do a soak in the Sea Salt solution for about 5-10 minutes per ear (This step can be combined with a warm water massage to save some time).
*Be sure to dry your ears thoroughly once finished*
Rub your Lo(be)tion on your lobes for about 5-10 minutes each (roughly) and gently wipe off any excess.
Once finished, begin to rub your Brutiful Butter onto your lobes and be sure to rub it in thoroughly until your ears feel a bit softer and
be sure to put your plugs in from the side the skin/blowout is coming out of to 'roll' the blowout back into the 'fistula' position.

Mid-day/Noon: Gently remove the plug pushing it from the back through the front,
and gently wipe any residue clean so you cannot worry about getting any infections.
Once cleaned, massage your ears gently with a small amount of Lo(be)tion making sure to rub it in thoroughly.
When you put the plug back in, do so from the side the skin/blowout is sticking out of to position it back into the 'fistula' position.

The Evening Remedy is the same as the Morning: Do your warm water massages to increase blood flow. (roughly 5 minutes per ear)
Do a soak in the Sea Salt solution for about 5-10 minutes per ear (This step can be combined with a warm water massage to save some time).
*Be sure to dry your ears thoroughly once finished*
Rub Lo(be)tion on your lobes for about 5-10 minutes each(roughly) and gently wipe off any excess.
Once finished, begin to rub your Brutiful Butter onto your lobes and be sure to rub it in thoroughly (much like a lotion)
until your ears feel a bit softer and
be sure to put your plugs in from the side the skin/blowout is coming out of to 'roll' the blowout back into the 'fistula' position.
*Make sure that anytime you put the plug in, do some from the side the skin/blowout sticks out on!
*
This regimen may take anywhere from 3 weeks to 3 months, the point is that it works...
but you must follow it and make sure you do not stray from it.
Once you have fully healed lobes, be sure to keep massaging in the mornings and evenings to break down ALL scar tissue left over, and
to add to the the plug pushing it from the back through to the overall future and health of your lobes!
